I lived in the Eastern Panhandle for 30+ years and miss it. I was a member of the Shepherdstown preservation group briefly before I moved. I read a great book about the battle near Shepherdstown, Is there a book detailing the campaign in the Morgan and Hampshire county areas? As so-called progress heads your way I am glad that you are interested in protecting the historical battlefields. Hopefully folks can learn from the preservation of these areas and cherish their heritage!

Nice to see the efforts to preserve our historical places in the area and to get more awareness of local historical significant events such as Jackson's 1862 campaign. Frank, Somerset County, PA

Looking forward to the presentations at the Berkeley Springs State Park and the Country Inn tomorrow. This is my first time in the area and it is very, very nice to visit. I live on the Eastern Shore.

Would like to be there for the event, but looks like 2012 will be a spring travel time. So we will miss it. Hoping it all goes very well.
